Since opening, the Mall@Reds has been trading well above its projections and is NOW, once again very proud to announce another exciting addition that will be added to the mall, the Piazza area. This means welcoming more restaurants to the current tenant mix for our customer's convenience and enjoyment.

The piazza area will be situated on the North-West elevation of the mall, spread between the current Mochacinos and Greenfields Entrances. There will be ample outside seating, water features and trees creating a relaxed yet sociable vibe and it will be conveniently located close to the seven theatre movie house.

The Mall@Reds shopping centre has grown over the years from an 18 000m² Neighbourhood Centre when it first opened in 2003 to a 41 000m² regional centre with Edgars, Woolworths, Pick 'n Pay and Virgin Active. With the new extension that opened end April 2009, the mall is now 50 000 m² making it the second largest mall in Centurion that gives you more value for money, secure, structured and free parking and on top of it all, a wide variety of tenants.   

The new A-grade national tenant mix that have been added ensure hours of shopping excitement that will give you the best shopping experience at Mall@Reds!  Some of these shops include tenants like: Foschini, Donna Claire, Markham, Exact, Sport Scene, American Swiss, Bata, Contempo, Rene Taylor, CNA, Incredible Connection, Queenspark, Cape Union Mart, Legit, @Home, Tekkie Town, etc.

Mall@Carnival : Phase 2
The Mall@Carnival, Brakpan's very own up market Regional Shopping Centre of approximately 30 000 m² which opened in October 2005 in Dalpark, Brakpan, is now adding 42 000m² of new shops and 2 500 new parking bays in its Phase 2 expansion, bringing the Mall@Carnival to 72 000m².

The long time talked about extension to Mall@Carnival finally became a reality when construction began in January 2010 to the excitement of the existing tenants and stakeholders. The additional development shall provide new national and independent retailers with wonderful opportunities to do business in an already successful centre.

The Mall's location at the intersection of Airport and Heidelberg Roads and the N17 and R23 highways, which are the main "arteries" through Brakpan and the East Rand makes it highly visible and accessible, and strategically situated to service Brakpan, Springs, Heidelberg, Nigel, Benoni, Boksburg, and the surrounding townships. This intersection is used by ± 50 000 vehicles per 24-hour period, and approximately 80% of residents in the trade area use Airport, Heidelberg Roads or the N17 as a daily traffic route.

Existing anchor tenants include Pick 'n Pay (5,000m²), Edgars (2,500m²), Woolworths (2,800m²) as well as other national retailers such as Truworths, Markhams, Mr Price, Clicks, Ackermans, to name a few. Part of the mall is also developed as a Retail Mart including tenants such as KFC, Steers, Blockbusters Video, Romans Pizza, and Midas.

Due to the success of Mall@Carnival a number of requests have been received from current and new national retailers to increase their floor area as well as opening new facilities in the mall. Pick 'n Pay Supermarket has already expanded its floor space by 17.5% in 2008.

In view of this, Phase 2 construction commenced in January 2010 to the South side of the centre, where we are adding another ± 42 000 m² on a double level which will link up with the existing mall, and will include another 4 new anchor tenants, including Checkers Hyper (8 500m²) , Game (5 000m²) , Dis-Chem (1 600m²), and Ster Kinekor (2 800m²), as well as other national retailers, bringing the Mall@Carnival to ± 72 000m² and large Regional Centre status. We are also in the process of negotiating to add a 3000m² Virgin Active Gym on the Phase 2. The Phase 2 Extension is on track to open in August 2011. Click here for the development brochure.

Our aim as Mall@Carnival Management is to always ensure that the Mall remains competitive and current in order to satisfy our customers, protect our catchment area, and grow our shopper loyalty resulting in an improved shopping experience for the customers and increased turnovers for the tenants. In order to do this, we are constantly adjusting and increasing our tenant mix according to customer and economic demand.

We feel that this Phase 2 expansion will help us achieve a good balance between retail, services and entertainment and satisfy customer demand and create a better shopping experience for all.
